Mvac-Specific Notes
M80 Gamma: unit starts/stops on its own, or the handle stops responding
First, test with another new Gamma hose to rule out the hose itself as the cause.
If the handle and unit still won't connect, the display unit (ELELED61) needs replacing to restore communication between the handle and the main unit. No manual reset is required afterward — the connection re-establishes automatically once the part is swapped.
Connecting an ash collector
The ash collector's hose connects to a regular wall outlet on top of the collector — that starts the central vacuum. A second hose then connects to the outlet on the front of the collector to collect the ashes.
Not compatible with a Retraflex outlet — use a standard wall outlet only. Empty all collected ash within 72 hours.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Mvac, Duovac, and the Cyclovac HD line share the same electrical platform as the rest of Trovac's lineup, so the core troubleshooting steps are identical across brands. Tap the symptom that matches what you're seeing.
Vacuum will not stop
Hose improperly inserted: the tab on the hose needs to fit into the slots of the vacuum inlet. Reseat it so the hose switch engages correctly.
Defective on/off hose: if the unit keeps running with the switch off despite correct placement, have the hose checked by a service center.
Low-voltage wire connection: while the vacuum runs, disconnect the low-voltage wires. If it stops, the wire or connector is faulty — contact your installer or an authorized service center.
Stuck relay: the relay is stuck closed and needs to be replaced.
Vacuum will not start
Power connection: confirm the cord is in a dedicated, grounded outlet.
Low-voltage wire: verify the low-voltage wires are properly seated in the low-voltage inlet.
Faulty inlet: start the unit from different inlets to isolate which one is defective.
Unit breaker tripped: press the reset button. If it trips again shortly after, contact an authorized service center.
House circuit breaker: reset the breaker at the panel and confirm the unit is on a dedicated, grounded circuit.
Defective on/off hose: rotate the hose a quarter turn in the inlet. If it starts, have the hose examined.
Decrease in suction strength
Motor guard screen: remove the filter and check the screen between the motor and filtration compartment for blockage. Keep the filter fully seated afterward.
Open inlet: close all inlets not currently in use.
Clogged exhaust: verify nothing is blocking the exhaust.
Blocked hose: plug the handle end of the hose into the inlet to reverse airflow through it, covering the gap around the handle — this clears most hose blockages.
Obstruction in piping: disconnect the unit from the piping at its air intake, start it via a hose in an inlet, and hand-test suction directly at the intake. Normal suction there points to a blockage downstream in the piping — abnormal points to the unit itself.
Hybrid unit without a bag: using a hybrid unit with or without a bag does not affect suction power.
Reset & motor maintenance
Nuisance reset (motor cycles on/off): check the motor's amperage first. Normal amperage points to an oversensitive reset needing replacement; abnormal amperage points to the motor.
Dual-motor units (like the Duovac Distinction): disconnect the connector wire between the two motors and test each one individually to isolate the fault.
Amperage maintenance
Never install a 20A reset in a unit certified for 15A — the cord is only rated for 15A and will burn out under the higher load. Always match the reset to the unit's certified amperage.
Testing motor amperage: open the unit's cover and take the reading directly on one of the motor wires.
Can't find your model here, or need a part number confirmed? Reach out to our team — we carry parts and service support for the Mvac, Duovac, and Cyclovac HD lineups.
Covers Mvac's active lineup (M45, M47, M50, M80, M95, Tytan, M41), Duovac's active lineup (Air10, Star, Air50, Distinction), and Cyclovac's HD Commercial line (HD925, HD7525) — regional-exclusive and discontinued models aren't included. Performance figures (airwatts, water lift, CFM) mostly live in each brand's separate spec-sheet PDF and aren't repeated here except where stated directly on a model's own page (as with the HD925 above); this guide focuses on parts and warranty terms for ownership and service.
